Hillary Comes Alive

This week, US journalists conduct a 'deathwatch' on the GOP, Democrat & libertarian nominees for the 2008 US Presidency whose campaigns are in trouble. Slate's John Dickerson offers a 'contrarian' defense of Hillary Clinton: she will mobilize loyal voters for a 'comeback day on March 4'. Other variables include Barack Obama's 'front-runner blues' if he faces a 'gonzo' press scrum, and the outcome of behind-the-scenes negotiations with 796 superdelegates at the US Democrat convention. But, Dickerson warns, if the 'switchbacks' continue and Obama gains further 'momentum' then 'Clinton is doomed'. If so, will Slate then hire Clinton to offer career advice on how to wage an all-out campaign?
